Cork Photo 2016 Panel Choice Award

Derek Foott & Tina Horgan

1–30 October

Thurs–Fri 12:00–18:30 Sat–Sun 11:00–18:30 Cork Photo in partnership with Brighton Photo Fringe present Derek Foott and Tina Horgan, winners of the Cork Photo 2016 Panel Choice Award. Melba & The Natives Derek Foott This multidisciplinary exhibition emerged from a rediscovered family archive. In 1958, Foott’s grandmother Melba and her partner George set sail from Cork, Ireland to Cape Town, South Africa. For four years they travelled throughout the country painting and documenting their experience. Inspired by this unique archive of photographs, insightful interviews, lost conversations and songs long forgotten; Foott presents a reimagined life, time and place through fragments of a captured past. Little Alters Everywhere Tina Horgan An experiment in object association; Horgan’s miniatures pay homage to those close to her. The pictures hint towards a fascination or obsession with collecting and present us with fictitious narratives that spark childhood memories. Cork Photo is a biennial photography festival held in Co. Cork Ireland. Visit corkphoto.com for information about our permanent gallery and the 2018 festival.
